Carrot (Gazar) Halwa!

This is also known as carrot pudding. Winters are here and carrot (gazar) halwa is one of the most favourite dishes of winter. This is famous Indian dessert which is really easy to prepare and yummy. So let’s proceed to the recipe.

INGREDIENTS

Red juicy carrots (gazar): 4 cups (grated)
Milk: 6 cups
Clarified butter (ghee): 1/2 cup
Sugar: 1 cup
Cashews: 15 (roughly chopped)
Almonds: 15 (roughly chopped)
Cardamom powder: 1 teaspoon

RECIPE


  • Put a pan on medium flame and heat clarified butter(ghee).
  • Now add grated carrots (gazar) and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Now add milk according to the ingredients and keep mixing on medium flame.
  • Mix until milk evaporates and turns into a thick carrot-milk mixture.
  • Now add sugar and mix. Cook on simmer flame for 10 minutes so sugar can mix into the mixture.
  • Sprinkle cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Turn off the flame and garnish the halwa with chopped cashews and almonds.
  • Carrot (gazar) halwa is ready!
  • Serve it warm.
