Paneer (cottage cheese) Paratha!

Today I have tried paneer paratha. This is an Indian breakfast. Paneer paratha is really tasty and easy to prepare. So let’s proceed to the recipe.

For Stuffing

INGREDIENTS

Paneer (cottage cheese): 200 grams (crumbled)
Onion: 1 (finely chopped)
Green chillies: 2 (finely chopped)
Garam masala powder: 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Amchur (dry mango powder): 1/2 teaspoon
Chaat masala powder: 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds powder: 1/4 teaspoon
Asafoetida: 1 pinch
Carom seeds: 1/4 teaspoon
Gram flour: 2 tablespoons
Semolina: 2 teaspoons
Salt: according to taste
Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tablespoon
Oil: for shallow fry

For Dough


INGREDIENTS


All purpose flour: 2 bowl
Oil: 2 tablespoons
Hot water: for kneading

RECIPE

  • Take a large bowl and put all purpose flour and oil in it. With the help of hot water knead the dough and cover it and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
  • Now take a bowl and put crumbled cottage cheese in it. Now add chopped onion, chopped green chillies and mix them well.
  • Add garam masala powder, red chili powder, amchur, chaat masala powder, cumin seeds powder, asafoetida, carom seeds, gram flour, semolina, and salt according to the ingredients.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves and mix all the ingredients well.
  • Take a small amount from the dough and roll them with the help of your palms.
  • Sprinkle some flour on the ball and with the help of a rolling pin (belan) make a small chapati (about 4-5 inches in diameter)
  • Place the 2 tablespoons paneer stuffing on chapati and cover it with other rolled dough and press the edges well.
  • Again sprinkle some flour and with the help of rolling pin (belan) make a big chapati (about 6-7 inches in diameter)
  • In parallel, heat a tava on medium flame and put stuffed paneer chapati on it.
  • After 1/2 minute turn this to another side and apply 1/4 teaspoon oil on it and cook well .(You can use clarified butter.)
  • Turn this to another side and again apply oil on it and cook.
  • Cook well from both the sides on medium flame.
  • Turn off the flame and and transfer it on a plate.
  • Paneer paratha is ready!
  • You can eat it with curd, chutney, or sauce.
